"No honest poet can ever feel quite sure of the permanent value of what he has written. He may have wasted his time and messed up his life for nothing," says TS Elliot. But I'd have it no other way - better the life written than the life left blank.

Writer's High

BLOGSPORT. Writing this blog is like running a marathon through a canyon where thoughts ricochet off its walls and reverberate back as a thunder of words smiting the runner to a new level of writer's high.

English Cyclists David & Joan Wooldridge Spotted On The Kuala Terengganu-Dungun Road

Dedicated long haul cyclists seem to pay scant regard to the weather as proven by this couple from England, David and Joan. Nor does age deter! He is 69 while she is 67! I spotted them at Kg Mercang, on the Kuala Terengganu-Dungun road, pedaling in the rain today while I was driving towards KT. I drove ahead of them for about two km and stopped at a bus shelter to ambush them with my camera. I had hardly finished taking a leak when they were upon me forcing me to hail them down with cries of "Hold it, Hold it, Hold it right there!" They cheerfully obliged and the photos were the results.

After exchanging pleasantries and some basic information, David gave me his calling card which says "Cyclists Welcome in Cambridge, England." Their website: www.davidjoan.me.uk.

Coming upon them and knowing their age gives me one more reason to continue with my global cycling plan which is taking a knock or two lately.

Live your life.. if you love your global cycling.. go ahead with your plan.. God willing you will be a lot healthier than staying idle..
As a Muslim you might want to make some preparation for "the permanent life".. but again the choice is yours..
Stay young and have a good day my friend.

Fallacies are like nematodes or, more colorfully, succubi. They are embedded in our common everyday sentiments and escape our attention simply by looking reasonable on the surface but are creating havoc with our grasp on the truth and spiritual growth by being unrecognized weaknesses in our understanding of things. One thing that never fails to astound me is the belief by A that only they will go to heaven and also provided they make specific preparations in the form of rituals and strict observance of rules which are compartmentalized and separate from other worldly activities such as cycling, all the while condemning the rest of mankind who are non-A while being 100% dependent on them for all their needs including the ability to perform the rituals and observe the rules which in large parts are incongruous with the values of the rest of mankind ... last sigh of the boors and moors ...

Zah,

Go for it. Like I always say you must take the first step. I am now writing this comment in my friend's farm house somewhere in rural France . Go and google Rognac..I cycled my Dahon in 3 degrees from Marseille airport to his house on my faithful Dahon Mu 8 guided by my Garmin 60 Csx. Life is good......
